What is Our 'Early College' Offer for Under 16s?
Our Early College offer is tailored for Year 10 or 11 students and is focused on developing the knowledge, skills and behaviour to support preparation for progression to Post 16 education.
This offer has been designed to run alongside the student’s existing education provision, which is provided by the referring school/Alternative Learning Provider (ALP) or via Elective Home Education.
An Overview of Our Offer
- We will have two cohorts; one at South Bristol Skills Academy and one at College Green (a maximum of 10 students per group)
- These students will spend one day per week as a group to focus on personal development including completing projects and team/confidence-building
- They will then infill into a chosen vocational subject across the week (up to 6 hours). Subjects range from Animal Care and Catering to Motor Vehicle and Construction. We are also able to offer ESOL and SEN options
- Core subjects, such as English and Maths, will remain the responsibility of the referring school /ALP听or parent/caregiver if the student is Elective Home Educated
